Machine or hand-applied coatings and other sorts of laminates can be applied after printing which offer certain protective advantages and can alter the surface of a print to achieve unique aesthetics and add physical presence to a work. A multitude of new aesthetics can be achieved.  

Atelier Boba proposes a variety of different types of coatings at the studio. It possesses two inkjet machines equipped with different acrylics for precise and clean overcoats. For more organic alterations to the print surface, the staff can hand-coat prints with varnishes of various viscosities and gloss characteristics.
